Hi, I'm Tate Brasel! I'm a geospatial software engineer at TealWaters. I help develop machine learning tools for wetland mapping and other hydrography applications.
I previously wrote GIS software at several Seattle-based geospatial companies. While studying computer science at Seattle University, I worked at Mazama Science building air quality visualization R packages for the U.S. Forest Service. Once graduated, I joined TerrainWorks and worked on the Wetland Intrinsic Potential tool for remote-sensing wetland analysis.
Between TerrainWorks and TealWaters I worked at Concrete Software as a full-stack game developer, helping to build mobile apps in Unity and the backend services that supported them. I love making games and other visual/interactive programming projects in my free time. I've published several on Itch.io if you'd like to take a look!
